Silverkings

Silverking is the nick name for the game fish called the Tarpon. Late Spring and Summer months many Silverkings migrate up to the Tampa Bay waters. Ann Maria Island along with the Skyway Bridge tarpon fishing is helping Tampa Bay in becoming a world renown hot spot to catch the majestic game fish known by many as the Silverking. Just hooking up to one of these mighty fish is considered a successful day, putting your hands on the fish (while its tail must remain in the water) is considered icing on the cake. Silverkings can grow in excess of 200 pounds and have been documented to be more than 50 years old. The Tarpon is considered one of the most prestigious game fish in the tampa bay area.
